Our Philosophy

Find yourself, in flavor.

Some of the best evenings of your life begin with a stranger passing you a plate. Once a month we set one long table in Nairobi, and fourteen people sit down to a menu that tastes of somewhere specific: a fire, a coast, a highland terrace.

Every dish we serve is a conversation with place, prepared by hands that have carried these recipes for generations, and offered as an invitation into a heritage far older than luxury itself. Four times a year the table travels, for a weekend in the landscape the food comes from.

The Approach

The Ingredients of an Evening

Once a Month
The Table

One long table in Nairobi, every third Thursday. Fourteen seats, one menu, a new theme each time.

Story-Led
Learning

Every course arrives with the story behind it, and on our getaways you cook beside the people who know the recipe best.

Guest Cooks
Curation

Each menu is built around one place and one cook, so no two evenings taste alike.

Four a Year
Getaways

Once a quarter the table travels: a Friday-to-Sunday weekend in the Mara, Lamu, the highlands or Naivasha.

From Our Tables
Curated Experiences
Maasai Bush Breakfast

Awaken to a bespoke sunrise feast in the heart of the reserve, plated beneath an acacia as the wild stirs to life. A moment from our Grasslands & Fire getaway.

Signature
Nyama Choma, Reimagined

The ember-roasted classic, elevated with heritage cuts and wild herbs. The heart of our Embers supper.

Botanical Sundowners

Garden-foraged cocktails as the light goes. How our suppers begin.

Coastal Swahili Fusion

A spice-route journey through Kenya's coast, reimagined for the contemporary palate. The table behind our Spice Route supper.

The Lamu Spice Table

An intimate feast tracing centuries of Swahili trade: cardamom, clove, and coconut over open flame. From our Lamu getaway.

Heritage

Recipes passed down, not written down.

Long before menus, there were mothers, grandmothers, and fire-keepers — carrying recipes not in books, but in memory, gesture, and story. Every dish at Savouring Africa begins with a conversation: with an elder, a forager, a fisherman who has read these waters his whole life.

"We do not cook to impress. We cook to remember."

Words From the Table

Moments worth returning for.

"The land, the food, the fire — it was all a form of remembering something we didn't know we'd lost."

Guest, Elephant Bedroom Camp

"Every plate had a story attached — I've never felt so connected to a place through food alone."

Guest, Lamu Spice Table

"An elegance I didn't expect from the bush — quietly the most sophisticated meal of our lives."
