The Evening
Every West African host will tell you theirs is the best jollof. Pepper & Smoke puts two on one table, party-style and Ghana-style, alongside suya off the coals, and lets you decide. Cooked by a guest cook from West Africa, introduced at the table.
It's our loudest, most playful supper, built for friend groups and for solo guests who enjoy a good argument. Votes are cast between courses, and the verdict, naturally, is never final.

The Night, Hour by Hour

Doors & the welcome pour
Arrive to the smell of suya spice on hot coals and a welcome pour with a little heat in it.
7:15 pm
Sit down
One long table, fourteen seats, and everyone's opinion on jollof already half-formed.
7:45 pm
Four courses, two jollofs
Suya first, then the soup, then the main event: both jollofs side by side, for you to judge.
10:00 pm
The verdict
Votes are counted over puff puff and coffee. The result changes every time.
